PULAU TIOMAN : TIOMAN ISLAND

Pulau Tioman belongs to the state of Pahang. A lot of people including Malaysians always mistaken that this island belongs to Johor due to the gateway jetty is in Mersing. Mersing is located in the state of Johor.
Pulau Tioman : (Tioman Island) is the largest in the a group of 64 volcanic islands which includes Pulau Sei Buat, Pulau Sembilang, Pulau Tulai , Pulau Chebeh , Pulau Labas and Pulau Renggis is located 80km northwest off Peninsular Malaysia's east coast.According to a local folklore this ialand is the resting place of a fabled dragon princess who had turned herself into an island in the South China Sea and become truly one of the most beatiful islands in the region.
Blessed with milies and miles of soft white sand, swaying palms , wild flowers growing in vivid profusion and cool waterfalls cascading down green slopes, Pulau Tioman is an adventurer's paradise for quite retreats, trekking, sunbathing and sea sports.

By Sea
Tioman is accessible by boat from Mersing in Johor. Journey time is approximately 1.5 hours.
The ferry service, Bluewater Express ferry tickets approx RM85/Adult and RM75/Child for retun ferry transfer. Tidal conditions may influence the departure time of your boat.

Ferry Daily Departure Schedule

From Mersing to Tioman : 7:30am, 10:00am, 11:30am;1:30pm, 3:00pm 4:00pm

From Tioman to Mersing Jetty : 7:30am, 09:30am, 12:00noon, 1:30pm, 3:00pm

Berjaya Air operates daily direct 45-minute flights to Tioman from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

Please note:
• All rates mentioned above act as a guideline only and is subject to change without prior notice.
  
• Ferries do not depart on a regular basis, but are dependent on tide levels. Sometimes you wil be transferred by a smaller boat to the waiting ferry, just outside the harbour.
  
• Departure times for other boats also vary, and even though you might be given a certain departure time it is common for the boats to wait in the harbour for 30 minutes or more to get as many passengers as possible. Be patient - you are on holiday!
  
• Travel times are approximate, and depend on sea conditions.
  
• Before leaving Mersing you will be asked to pay the RM5 Marine Park Conservation fee.
  
• During monsoon season (Oct - Jan), you should not plan to go to Tioman due to the heavy rains.
